Highlights from the January 2024 meeting

President Ava Moore – Welcome and Comments


  • 2024 Dues: No change in our dues, $50. Please have your dues paid today.
  • Vote for Barbara as addition to 2024 Program Committee. Motion was forwarded by Linda Cassell and seconded by Mary Eastman. Motion was voted and approved by guild.
  • Workshop Announcements—Barbara Stroup
    • Jan 13: EQ8, 1 to 4 pm
    • Feb 3 – Fearless Domestic Quilting by Pat Merkle, 8am to 12 pm, followed by lunch and meeting. 
  • April meeting will be April 13th
  • Use the GMQC Facebook page to look for people to go to QuiltCon with
  • Treasurer Dawn Holter – Dues can be invoiced and paid through Paypal
  • Secretary Sherri Eisenstein & Michelle Beachum – Photo reminder for Show and Share
  • Membership Linda Cassell & Teresa Melonson -- Welcome Guests and New Members – 4 new members and 1 guest
  • Programs Dawn Bianco, Michelle Giles and Barbara Stroup – programs for the new year. – whole year is scheduled out and will distribute next month. February meeting – asking new members to show a few pieces of their work
  • Philanthropy Duski Coleman and Cindy Lange
    • Take-home project library
    • Judy Valentine – quilts for victims (children and Moms) of domestic violence
    • Tummy time quilts
  • Social Media Dagmar Theodore
  • Lending library – Ruth. Please return books.
  • December Luncheon: Need volunteers for Cmte, please see me if you would like to be part of organizing our year end program!
  • April Quilt Show: Marilyn. Mancuso show April 18-20. Would like to have quilts of various sizes to show. Needs a sleeve for hanging. Need insurance value. If higher than $1,000 need a certificate of appraisal by certified quilt appraiser. Need to know by beginning of March.
