Are you ready for some FUN......this Saturday, October 8th

What's happening this Saturday at GMQG you ask?

Well, it is a little bit of a twist. You see Faye Jones is planning what she calls a "Dirty Santa" Fabric Swap. 

How can you join in the fun? It's easy.......bring a package with four (4) quilt shop quality fat quarters "gift wrapped".

Together, we each have opportunity to draw one of the mystery packages, unwrap and then determine if we want to keep the fabric OR steal one away (from someone who opened one before you that you fancied you might like more) ;-0

This is the game where MORE is merrier, so we hope to see you this Saturday, October 8th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at:

You may have received an email survey for our first quilting retreat at Wildacres in NC. We hope you will consider this opportunity and take a few moments to respond. Your opinion is important in this planning phase. We will also have printed survey's this Saturday if you would prefer to respond that way. Thanks.

The "Block of the Month" is to bring one or more orphan, ugly, left over or otherwise unloved block and some extra matching scraps (if you have them) for someone else to resuscitate. Faye posed the challenge because she thinks there are some lemons that can be turned into lemonade!!!! Our goal is to prove her right. At a future meeting (to be named later) we will have a show and vote to name the most creative use of discarded blocks!!! Faye will provide a prize or prizes to the winners.


Reminders:

GMQG annual membership renewals start this Saturday. It is $35.00.  Paige Alexander will be accepting checks or cash.

Many of you are working on a signature block for Cheryl and Paige's quilt book. They will be welcoming those completed blocks this Saturday.

And, last but definitely not least, as always, bring your Show & Share and Dear Quilty projects.
