Philanthropy

The Greenville Modern Quilt Guild supports two agencies with our philanthropy efforts. They are “Tummy Time” quilts, which is through the Nurse-Family Partnership® (NFP) and “Quilts for Kids,” which is a program coordinated through Prisma Health.

“Tummy Time” quilts are donated to Greenville’s Nurse-Family Partnership® (NFP), which is a community health program. NFP serves first time moms that are less than 28 weeks pregnant who are affected by social, economic, and other risk factors. Each mother partnered with a registered nurse and receives ongoing nurse visits that continue through the child’s second birthday. Over the past 45 years, NFP has served more than 400,000 families in over 40 states.

The “Quilts for Kids” initiative provides quilts for children and young adults who are part of a special program at Prisma Health. The participants have suffered physical or mental abuse and trauma, and are referred by medical personnel, hospitals, or social care workers to Prisma Health so that they can receive exams, counseling, and follow-up care.
